I'm going through the same feelings towards a computer a friend gave me two month ago. His boss tried to fix his computer by reinstalling XP again but managed to get the Hard drive lock in somehow. I think I can fix it, but like to said Reg, it's a depressing thought on the prospects of the "What if it doesn't work" moments to come.

Gentlemen,
My computer has indeed gone into a spin and nosedived into the sea of japan. There were no survivors. it crashed and burned in a lovely fireball. And so, I won't be around much. I'm on my wife's laptop at the moment, and Christ, do I hate this thing. I will see you when I see you. I'll try to get online from time to time, if I may, but I don't know when I'll be back to form.
