Been seeing the Art Ducko name in shoutboxes and feel the need to say: Art, you're still an idiot.

Naturally he's in there asking for things because that's what he does best...or because that's all he does.

Art never met a record he couldn't ask someone for. And the tool works in a fucking record shop. Jesus Art you big cheapskate, open your hermetically sealed wallet, you can't take it with you.

There it is, The New Year and he's begging like always. Why doesn't anyone else wanna tell him to go fuck himself?

This thing we do is a sharing thing. Not a "give douchebag Ducko everything he wants with nothing in return" thing.

Fuck Ducko! Fuck him!

Ahhh, as if I needed a reason not to belong.

Hey, if they want to welcome his unreciprocating begging, they're welcome to it.

I'd actually let him join here to be the official CrankyBastard punching bag.

I made one request over there.

It was my first and will be my last request there. I doubt anyone can or will fill it, (sigh).

Any chance anybody can point me to this series:

I have three of them on vinyl and now kick myself in the ass for not getting the entire series when I first saw them at Sam Goody in the early seventies. While looking for these I found they were issued on CD at one time then are out of print again.

I promise this will be my only request.

Thank You.

I spent some time digging through all sorts of places with no luck.

I wish I knew when it was briefly released on CD, I may have bought the complete set. There are some gems on those.

I remember hearing a "new" Yardbirds release on the radio back when FM was still very good, after about three minutes I was wondering how I could remember something that was just released, sure enough it was from one of the three vinyls of this series that I owned. They made an official release of it.

I bought some of these just for the two sides of Soft Machine material with Daevid Allen with them.

I don't think anyone should feel self-conscious about making reasonable requests. We all need a little help from our friends at some point, whether it's in regards to an elusive album or a long-storied, seldom-seen stag reel of XXX "casting couch" footage stolen from the producers of The Rifleman. (anyone?)

That said, and not to name any names, there is a (very small) percentage of FARTO-philes that are becoming a bit more brazenly presumptous with requests as of late. One instance that I noticed yesterday involved a request for some oddball James Earl Jones interview at (iThink) iTunes. It basically amounted to the poster essentially "begging" someone to (presumably) purchase the download from iTunes and then (again, presumably) go to the trouble of uploading it to the forum for himself and "everyone" to enjoy. Rolling Eyes

The post was very curt, and offered nothing in the way of an explanation as to why anyone (poster included) would want to own such a seemingly random thing. Personally, I thought it was rude. If I wasn't more familiar with this poster's request history, I'd almost think it was a practical joke. As it stands, I am familiar with his history, so I know better...and the more I thought about it, the more it chapped me. I headed over there this morning intending to ask the poster to expand on his request a bit, but it disappeared sometime overnight. Not sure if he came to his senses and thought better of it, or if another moderator shared my point of view and flushed it. Either way, it's gone...so at least it's not stinkin' the place up anymore.

That poster has fully taken over Ducko's role. He asks for anything and everything. My recollection is that the interview was on a BBC website that is restricted in the US. I didn't like him to begin with and didn't want to open the door for him. Unlike many persistent requesters though, he has uploaded items. He didn't find FALTO until the very last day of AYBCS. I think HbD posted a note over there at the last minute. Bastard.

It was not me that knocked on the wall and asked him to cut the shit. I'm picking my battles and am staying quiet until after the first purge. I don't think HbD would have mentioned anything to him so I'll assume that was able to find another way to get what he was looking for. Nobody is putting up a stink about the many requests, nor the "limited time only" posts, so it must be only myself that is cranky. I fought this battle before with limited support, I won't be jumping back in any time soon.

The rule should be that you upload (random number of) files before you are allowed another request, say's he who hasn't offered anything in ages.

Speaking of dumb.

How dumb, how damn dumb, how fucking dumb do you have to be Art, to use a shoutbox on Exy to beg for the forthcoming Paul McCartney release.

Idiot.

Art, use your brain as something other than the source of a bad comb-over.

Exy could almost be said to specialize in posting new releases. Do you seriously think that unless your whiny pinhead asks for it that it won't be posted?

All your asking for it does is reveal you to be the lame, idiotic, asshat leech that I know you are.

Art Ducko...man never met an album he couldn't beg for, subsequently leech and offer nothing in return.

Asshole Of The Day for January 3, 2012 is...Art Ducko! Extending his Asshole Of The Day record to an amazing 493 consecutive days.

Congratulations Asshole Art.
