Greensleeves,
What Does "SEX-O-POTAMUS (1970)" refer to?

Nothing at all, Jeremiah. It's just a pic I found on the 'net that I felt needed an imaginary band name stuck on it.
Unfortunately, "Sex-O-Potamus" was the best I could come up with at the time.
I wish I did know more about the actual events surrounding the photo, though.

I have to say, looking at that pic, that a double-bodied bass-12-string seems less than useful to me. Then again, I'm not a monster bass player with a penchant for the 12-string sound.

well, i think i can help you out a little bit on that.
that's the LP cover for the krautrock group, Exmagma's 2nd release, "Goldball". I'm something of a fan. i call them "Krautrock", because that what they're usually called, but really they're hard to pigeonhole. the group members comprise two Germans and an American. they're Prog, Jazzy, Experimental, Avant Garde, space rock, and yes, Krautrock. a very cool sound. i recommend them very highly, though they're probably not for everyone (ie: pretty non commercial and mostly instrumental).

Well, I'll be damned...I lose again.
As one of our "colleagues" is fond of saying when in a tight spot: "Oooops!"

Wow, I really had no idea, J! I didn't have any info about that picture and had no idea that it was an album cover, if it was doctored or, indeed, even featured a real band. I'm going to guess that the stilts were probably not something that one could expect to see during a gig, then?
Now that my interest has been thoroughly piqued, I've got to ask: Would it be possible to maybe post something by them here? I enjoy a fair amount of "krautrock" too, and alway keep an eye out for the odd stuff.

Sakalli has all three of Exmagma's albums posted at 256kbps.

This guy has damn near any prog rock shit you can ever hope to find. Unfortunately, nearly everything he posts are .ogg files, but with a good converter you can fix that.
Cheers!
